By the time your cabinets are being installed, most of the decisions are long behind you. Knowing how the week runs still makes it easier.
Before the truck arrives
The room needs to be clear, the old cabinets out, and the floor and walls finished to the point we agreed. If the space is not ready, everything after it slides, so this is worth confirming a few days ahead rather than on the morning.
Delivery and check-in
The package is delivered and checked against your order before anything goes on a wall. It is the right moment to catch a damaged door or a missing part, when there is still time to deal with it.
Base cabinets and levelling
Bases go in first, and this is the slowest part of the job for a good reason. Floors are rarely level and walls are rarely square. Every base gets shimmed and scribed so the whole run sits true, because the countertop template depends on it and so does every door above it.
Wall cabinets
Uppers follow, hung off the level line set by the bases rather than off the ceiling, which is usually not level either.
Doors, drawers and hardware
Doors and drawer fronts are hung and then adjusted, which is where soft-close hinges earn their place. Gaps are set even down the run and pulls and knobs are fitted to consistent spacing.
Countertops come after
Stone is templated against the installed cabinets, not before. That means a gap of a week or so between cabinet installation and countertop fitting on most jobs. It is not a delay, it is the only way to get a top that actually fits.
The walkthrough
We go through the finished room with you, adjust anything that needs it and deal with any snags. Say something at this point rather than living with it.
