Most kitchens try to be interesting everywhere at once and end up busy. This one picks a single place to be bold. The perimeter runs in a soft warm grey with a simple shaker door, deliberately understated, and everything expressive happens on the island.
The island carries a deep green with a heavily veined marble top that continues down over the end rather than stopping flush at the corner. That detail is what stops an island reading as a box with a lid on it.
Brass hardware and the two lantern pendants above pull the warmth back out of the green, and the range wall behind stays in the same quiet grey so nothing competes.
